What is the Maidenhead Lions’ Careline Service?
The Careline alarm is designed to help older, frail or disabled people remain in their own homes, with the knowledge that they always have somebody to help them in an emergency.

The Careline service includes the installation of an alarm base unit, which plugs into the telephone line, and a comfortable pendant which goes around the wrist or neck.
In an emergency, the alarm user simply presses the red button on their pendant and the care support team will respond. The situation is assessed over the base unit's loudspeaker and help is found in the form of emergency contacts and, if needed, the emergency services.
Maidenhead Lions have invested in a number of Careline units which can be loaned for installation in the SL6 postal area by a Lion representative at no cost to the user. Once the test is complete, the user will be connected to a 24-hour Care support team. The Care support team is provided by Bracknell Council’s Forestcare Organisation*. The current charge for this service is £24.80 /Qtr.
Forestcare offer a similar service but at an increased cost to cover the installation, direct debit and rental of the Careline package.
Lion Brian co-ordinates Careline Services
The installation of a loaned package from Maidenhead Lions will save the user approximately £120 per year.
*Note: Forestcare is a 24 hour telecare response centre based in the heart of Bracknell. They provide a range of telecare solutions to both individuals and organisations. Their dedicated team is active every day of the year to provide support and assistance. They are regulated by both the Telecare Services Association and the Care Quality Commission to make sure the services are of the highest standard. Payments for their services can be made by monthly or quarterly
